Rhein Raw Materials Rhein powder
Product Overview:
Rhubarbic acid is a naturally occurring anthraquinone compound found in herbs such as rhubarb, aloe vera and senna. In recent years, rhubarbic acid has shown therapeutic effects in the treatment of a variety of inflammatory diseases, such as chronic glomerulonephritis, arthritis and acute enteritis. In addition, rhubarbic acid has been shown to modulate the intestinal microbiota and purine metabolism in the intestines to alleviate chronic colitis, as well as protection of the epithelial barrier in cytokine-stimulated intestinal epithelial cells. Rhubarbic acid is transported at room temperature and stored as powder -20°C for 3 years; 4°C for 2 years, in solvent -80°C for 6 months; -20°C for 1 month. For the determination of the content, high performance liquid
chromatography (HPLC) can be used.

Rhein Raw Materials Rhein powder Details
Rhein powder Usage and Synthesis.
Rhubarb acid has anti-tumour activity, antibacterial activity, immunosuppressive effect, diuretic effect, laxative effect, anti-inflammatory effect, treatment of diabetes, kidney disease. Health care
products are mainly used for lipid-lowering and weight loss, laxative and detoxification, cleansing the internal environment, preventing gastric cancer, and delaying aging.
Uses of Rhein powder.
It has anti-inflammatory, anti-osteoarthritic, and anti-cancer activities. It reduces IL-1β production and secretion, induces nitric oxide synthase activity, phosphorylation of c-Jun and c-
Jun amino-terminal kinase (JNK).
Pharmacological Effect of Rhein powder.
Rhubarbic acid contains chemical components such as rhubarb phenol, rhubarbol, aloe rhubarbin, rhubarbic acid and senna glycosides. Both rhubarb acid and rhubarbol have anti-tumour effects, especially strong inhibition of melanoma, and some inhibition of breast cancer and Ehrlich ascites carcinoma.
Intratumoural administration of rhubarbic acid and rhodopsin to mice with breast cancer showed obvious destructive effects on cancerous tissues. 5 mg/kg of rhubarbic acid and rhodopsin
inhibited 76% and 73% of melanoma in mice, respectively. There was a significant competitive inhibition of tyrosinase by rhubarb, and this inhibition may be one of the mechanisms of rhubarb's antimelanoma action. The concentration of rhubarb at 10 μg/ml had an inhibitory effect on the division of human lung cancer A-549 cells, and had a significant inhibitory effect on the DNA biosynthesis of lung cancer A-549 cells. The subcutaneous injection of the crude extract of rhubarb had an inhibitory effect on mouse sarcoma S37. Rhubarb acid inhibited Ehrlich ascites carcinoma by 15% and mouse sarcoma S180 by 21%.
Hot water extract of rhubarb inhibited mouse sarcoma S180 by 48.8%. Rhubarb acid inhibited mouse leukaemia P388. Rhubarb acid, rhubarbol and aloe rhubarbol were extracted from rhubarb.
All three anthraquinone derivatives reduced the amount of ascites and the number of cancer cells in tumour-bearing mice to varying degrees, with rhubarbic acid having a more pronounced effect and aloe rhubarbin a lesser effect, essentially paralleling prolonged survival.
The inhibitory effects of rhubarbic acid and rhodopsin on DNA, RNA and protein biosynthesis were stronger, while those of aloe rhodopsin were weaker.
Characteristic of Bulk Rhein powder.
The chemical name of rhubarb acid is "1,8-dihydroxyanthraquinone-3-carboxylic acid". Molecular formula C15H8O6, molecular weight 284.21.
Molecular weight 284.21, sublimated to yellow needle-like crystals. Melting point 321~322℃,decomposition temperature 330℃, UVλmax(methanol)229,258,435nm, soluble in alkali and pyridine, slightly soluble in alcohol, ether, benzene, chloroform, petroleum ether, insoluble in water.
Can form red potassium salt, peach sodium salt, with calcium hydroxide and barium hydroxide to form red precipitate.
Preparation: Hydrolysed from diacetate of rhubarbic acid. Use: At present, the clinical treatment of rheumatism drugs often contain rhubarb acid.
