Ternacin (Parecoxib sodium for injection, trade name Dynastat), the world's first injectable selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor for the short-term treatment of postoperative pain, belongs to the class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drugs. Terna is an inactive precursor to vadicxib, which is metabolized by the liver in vivo after injection to function as Vadicxib. Parecoxib is a precursor of vardecxib. It can selectively inhibit cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), inhibit the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin (PG), and inhibit PG synthesis, thus exerting analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, while not significantly inhibiting COX-1.
