Usnic Acid Powder Usage and Synthesis.

Usnic Acid is one of the most important and widely distributed lichenic acids, also known as lichenic acid, and is found mainly in the genera Usnea, Alectoria, Ramalina, Evernia, Cetraria, Cladonia and Parmelia, Tea stain genus (Lecanora), the red star coat genus (Haematomma) and many other species of the genus, in the Pinaceae, Plum Clothing and Stamenaceae lichen content generally accounted for 0.1-4% of the dry weight of the coat in the ground, in the golden yellow tree hair (Alectoriaochroleuca) content of 8%. Pinellic acid is a powerful antibiotic of the furan class, with cyclic properties, and is found in lichens in both (+) and (-) forms .

It has been reported that in the 1960s in the former Soviet Union, pineolic acid was made into various dosage forms and widely used in the treatment of wounds, burns, chafing and other conditions. Because of its strong antibacterial, antiradical and antiseptic effects, Pinusolidic acid is now used in the pharmaceutical, perfume and cosmetic industries, and is added as a pure substance to toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorant, sunscreen and weight-loss products.

In recent years, the research on Pinusolidic acid has focused on antibacterial, antiviral, insecticidal, anti-tumour, anti-inflammatory and so on.

    Usnic Acid Powder

    Uses and functions of Baicalin.

Rosolic acid is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent with powerful inhibitory effect on most Gram-positive bacteria, the concentration of 50μg/mL can completely inhibit bacterial growth, and is used as a highly effective preservative in cosmetics. It has a selective inhibitory effect on Streptococcus, the main bacterium causing oral diseases and dental caries. Pinusolidic acid is effective in many skin diseases such as burns, infections, psoriasis and so on.

    1. In clinical application: daily oral 0.1-1.0g of pine rosmarinic acid sodium salt, can make people's pulmonary tuberculosis, intestinal tuberculosis, some symptoms such as cough, loss of appetite, fever or intestinal tuberculosis diarrhoea, and so on to get better, and even make tuberculosis bacilli microscopic examination of the negative. It can also be used for septic wounds, burns and skin infections.

    2. Application in environmental monitoring: Paraquat (a kind of extremely poisonous herbicide) can transfer electrons to O2 from different transport systems and produce superoxide radicals. Paraquat was used to treat 2 types of lichens, small wrinkled plum coat and smooth plum coat, and then the content of rosmarinic acid in the 2 types of lichens was measured by HPLC. As a result, the content of pineolic acid increased by 36.3% in smooth plum lichen and 13.7% in small wrinkled plum lichen. They concluded that the action of pinolenic acid was dependent on the different lichen species. This study provides directions for the application of Pinusolidic acid in pharmaceutical and cosmetic fields and environmental biomonitoring.

    3. In other applications: In recent years, it has been found that Pinusolidic acid has analgesic and antipyretic effects, and its efficacy can be compared with that of aminopyralid (antipyretic), pau d'arco (anti-inflammatory and analgesic), and hydrocortisone hemisuccinate. Also, it has been found to have similar effects to antiviral, antiprotozoal, antiproliferative activity and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Intravenous injection of 10 mg/kg of sodium pinealate rapidly and significantly enhanced respiration in anaesthetised cats, increased ventilation for a longer period of time, increased oxygen consumption, and raised body temperature, all of which suggest that its metabolism is enhanced, and that it has effects similar to those of dinitrophenol, and that its toxicity is greater than that of dinitrophenol. Because of its antimicrobial effect, Pinusolidic acid can be applied as an antiseptic.

    Bulk Usnic Acid

    Pharmacological Effect of Usnic Acid.

    1. Antibacterial effect: Pinellic acid can effectively inhibit the growth of Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA, Acinetobacter, Corynebacterium, and can inhibit the growth of Mycosphaerella, directly kill the cells of Staphylococcus aureus, and impede the Pseudomonas aeruginosa signaling pathway, suggesting that Pinellia extract and Pinellic acid can be used for the treatment of acne, rosacea, seborrhoeic dermatitis, and other related dermatological disorders; in addition, it has an elimination effect on sa-resistant plasmids. In addition, Pinus sylvestris acid has an elimination effect on SA drug-resistant plasmid, the elimination rate is 52% in 24h, and the elimination rate is up to 14.6% in 48h, which may be used for clinical treatment of drug-resistant SA infections.

    2. Antiviral effect: Studies have proved that pineolic acid has the potential activity of inhibiting the proliferation of rat polyomavirus, which is mainly through the inhibition of the formation of messenger RNA, thus indirectly inhibiting the replication of DNA. Pinellic acid in Pinus longifolia has inhibitory activity against Epstein-barrvirus (EBV), with (+)-pinellic acid showing the highest inhibitory activity (ED501.0 μg/mL), while (-)-pinellic acid has a weaker inhibitory activity (ED505.0 μg/mL).

    3. Insecticidal effect: (+)-pineolic acid has the activity of killing the pre-flagellate of Leishmania dubliniensis (the protozoa of black fever), and the in vitro active concentration of (+)-pineolic acid was 25 μg/mL. The lowest effective concentration of S-(-)-pineolic acid for killing Trichomonas in vitro was 0.4 mg/mL, and there was no significant difference between the in vitro trichomonas-killing effect of pineolic acid at 0.4 mg/mL and above and the in vitro trichomonas-killing effect of metronidazole at the same concentration. difference.

    4. Anti-tumour effect: pine rosmarinic acid has the activity of anti-wild-type P53 breast cancer cell line MCF7, non-functional Chemicalbook functional P53 breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231, lung cancer cell line H1299 and a variety of cancer cell lines L1210, 3LL, DU145, MCF7, K-562 and U251, but for normal cell DNA. However, it does not cause any harm to normal cell DNA, thus it is expected to be developed into a new generation of anticancer drugs.

    5. Anti-inflammatory activity: The anti-inflammatory activity of pineolic acid was studied by using, rat foot swelling test (acute inflammation) and rat cotton ball granuloma test (chronic inflammation), and ibuprofen was used as a positive control drug, the results showed that for acute inflammation, at the same dose as ibuprofen (100mg/kg orally), ibuprofen's anti-inflammatory effect was superior to that of pineolic acid; for chronic inflammation, the anti-inflammatory effects of the two were comparable and there was a significant difference compared with the control group. There is a significant difference in comparison with the control group, it is speculated that the anti-inflammatory mechanism of pineolic acid is related to the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.

    6. Other activities: the study of sodium pine rosmarinic acid to promote the role of skin wound healing, the overall experiment shows that sodium pine rosmarinic acid topical application of experimental skin damage has accelerated the repair effect, but in the range of 0.5 to 8 μg/mL on the proliferation of L929 fibroblasts have no promotional effect.

    Natural Usnic Acid Powder

Adverse RAeaction Bulk Usnic Acid Powder.

One of the more significant side effects of turpentine is the allergic reaction to contact dermatitis. In early studies, it was found that allergic reactions occurred mainly in factory workers, lichen pickers or horticulturalists who came into contact with forest timber, lichen plants, etc. In recent years, it was found that a patch test was carried out on four patients suffering from atopic dermatitis who used or came into contact with deodorants containing lichen extract, lichenic acid mixtures, and d-pinitraenoic acid, and the results showed that all four patients had positive reactions, suggesting that perfumes, cosmetics, deodorants, preservatives, and other products containing pinitraenoic acid and some other lichen plant extracts may cause contact dermatitis. The results showed that all four patients had positive reactions, suggesting that perfumes, cosmetics, deodorants and antiseptics containing d-pinacolate and some other lichen extracts may cause contact dermatitis, but that d-pinacolate does not cause photosensitisation.
