Vitamin B2 is naturally found in animal liver, kidney, meat and dairy foods, etc. It is produced industrially by fermentation and chemical synthesis methods.
Fermentation
Take glucose, corn syrup, inorganic salt, etc. as the culture medium, and use special active bacterium, Pseudocystis aristolochiae (Eremotheciumashbyii), to cultivate the deep fermentation at 28℃ for 9d, and the fermentation liquid contains about 6~8g/L riboflavin products. The extraction yield is 60% to 70%.
Synthesis method
The better synthesis method is firstly condensed by 3,4-dimethylaniline and D-ribose at Ph=4 and 28~30℃, then reduced by nickel-catalysed hydrogenation to obtain ribonamide, then coupled with aniline diazonium salt at 16~26℃, then reduced by sodium hyposulphite (insurance powder), and finally cyclosynthesized to vitamin B2 with barbituric acid (tetraoxymethylpyrimidine) in acetic acid.
