Food additive Stevia Extract Powder 56038-13-2
Product Overview:
Stevioside (English: Stevia, Stevia), also known as stevioside and stevia extract, a glycoside, was extracted in 1931 by French scientists from Stevia (or Stevia rebaudiana), an herb in the Asteraceae family. It can be used as a sweetener, and stevia has been used in South America for centuries as an herb and sugar substitute. It is characterised by high sweetness and low calorific value, with a sweetness 200-300 times that of sucrose and a calorific value of only 1/300 of sucrose.

Food additive Stevia Extract Powder 56038-13-2 Details
Stevia Extract Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Stevioside has been widely used as a sweetener, additive and flavour enhancer in the food and pharmaceutical industries, and as a sweetener in toothpaste in the cosmetic industry.
Stevia extract has a promotion effect on the growth of rat hair, and its promotion rate is similar to that of the existing hair growth synthetic product, minoxidil, and the promotion rate of minoxidil under the same conditions is 143, which indicates that stevia extract can be used in the hair growth products instead of minoxidil; the inhibition of melanocyte activity of stevia extract shows that it is a more effective whitening additive in cosmetics than tretinoin; stevia extract has inhibition effect on the Legionella pneumophila, which can cause the disease in air-conditioned environments; stevia extract has inhibition effect on Legionella pneumophila, which can cause the disease in air-conditioned environments. Stevia extract inhibits Legionella pneumophila, which can cause skin infections in air-conditioned environments, so stevia extract may play a role in preventing dermatitis or eczema.
Uses of Stevia Extract.
It is a natural low-calorie sweetener, which is not absorbed and does not produce calories after ingestion, and is a suitable sweetener for diabetes and obesity patients.
Used alone, it has a certain bitter taste, and glycyrrhizin can improve each other's taste, and it has synergistic effect when mixed with sweeteners, aspartame or Acesulfame.
In addition, this product has the therapeutic effect of lowering blood pressure, preventing excessive gastric acid, promoting metabolism, etc., and does not cause caries. China's regulations can be used in confectionery, beverages, candy, according to the production needs of the appropriate amount of use.
As a sweetener for non-calorie food, it also has the effects of lowering blood pressure, promoting metabolism, and treating excessive stomach acid; it is often used as a sweetening agent of glycyrrhizin or sucrose.
And often used with sodium citrate to improve the sweetness. Mainly used in bitter drinks, carbonated drinks, pickled products and so on.
Characteristic of Stevia Extract.
Colourless crystal or white crystalline powder, odourless, with strong sweetness, pure sweetness, slightly bitter taste when high concentration, sweetness is about 300 times of sucrose. Melting point] 98~202°C, specific optical rotation αD2020-39.3° (5.7% aqueous solution).
Easily hygroscopic in air, soluble in water and ethanol, but the higher the degree of refinement, the slower the rate of dissolution in water, about 40% at room temperature.
It has good heat resistance and acid resistance, alkaline, in pH 4 ~ 10 solution heating 24h without change. Oral LD50 of mice>15g/kg.
Product Method of Bulk Stevia Extract Powder.
Ethanol extraction method
100 parts of stevia leaves steamed in water, 4 to 6 parts of slaked lime in 200 parts of 95% ethanol at 60 ℃ for 20 min. double gauze filtration of the extract, filter residue and then by the above method for several times, so that the extract has no sweet taste.
The filtrate is concentrated to no alcohol, add 30 ~ 40 parts of water dilution, add saturated potassium aluminium sulphate (to the precipitation) and a small amount of saturated polyacrylamide flocculant, stirring well and then left for a period of time.
The upper layer of clear liquid and turbid liquid filtrate together, successively through the anion and cation exchange resin to get colourless or slightly yellow liquid, concentrated slurry, vacuum (60 ℃) drying, crushed to get white powdery products.
Water extraction method
Firstly, the sun-dried stevia leaves are steamed in water for 40min to reduce the green flavour. 100 leaves, 4-6 slaked lime in 200 parts of water at 60 ℃ immersion 20min. double gauze filtration extract, filter residue and then by the above method of immersion for several times, so that the extract has no sweet taste.
The filtrate was concentrated to a slurry, add 400 parts of 95% ethanol, stirring to dissolve and add 2mL of saturated polyacrylamide flocculant, stirring uniformly, and then left to stand for 3h. Take the upper layer of the clear liquid and the turbid liquid of the filtrate, concentrate to recover ethanol, and the remaining slurry was added to 3000 parts of water to dilute.
After the anion and cation exchange resin successively to get colourless or slightly yellow liquid, concentrated slurry, vacuum (60 ℃) drying, crushed to get white powder products.
