Eicosapentaenoic Acid Raw Materials Eicosapentaenoic Acid Powder Details
Eicosapentaenoic Acid Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) is an omega-3 fatty acid required by the body to help treat conditions such as lung disease, kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, colorectal ulcers, and segmental ileitis.EPA is primarily sourced from cold-water fish (e.g., wild salmon) and fish oil supplements. The separation of ethyl EPA and ethyl docosahexaenoate should be 1.0 or greater.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the patented synthetic drug ethyl eicosapentaenoate softgels (Vascepa, EPA) in 2012 for the treatment of hypertriglyceridemia.
Uses of Eicosapentaenoic Acid.
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) is an omega-3 fatty acid required by the human body and is primarily derived from cold-water fish such as wild salmon, mackerel, sardines and mackerel. In addition, fish oil supplements can increase the concentration of EPA in the body.
EPA has a variety of health benefits, including lowering blood lipids, lowering blood pressure, lowering blood sugar, preventing and improving atherosclerosis, preventing hypertension, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor effects.
EPA can also reduce platelet viscosity by decreasing platelet agglutination and adhesion, increase vascular permeability, inhibit the generation of thromboxane, and enhance the body's ability to resist thrombosis.
In terms of anti-tumor, EPA has a positive effect on the prevention and treatment of prostate cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer and uterine cancer. In terms of anti-inflammatory and improving immunity, EPA has positive therapeutic effects on rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, asthma and so on.
Pharmacological effect of Bulk Eicosapentaenoic Acid Powder.
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) has the following pharmacologic effects:
1) Platelet agglutination inhibition (thrombolytic effect);
2) Blood neutral fat-lowering effect;
3) blood very low-density lipoprotein ["VLDL"]-cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein ["LDL"]-cholesterol lowering effects and blood high-density lipoprotein ["HDL "]-cholesterol (anti - atherosclerotic effect) raising effect;
4) blood viscosity lowering effect;
5) blood pressure lowering effect;
6) anti-inflammatory effects; and 7) anti-tumor effects.
Product Methods of Eicosapentaenoic Acid.
Method I. Take fish liver or broken fish as raw material Treat fish liver or broken fish to get refined fish oil. After the refined fish oil is pre-concentrated by urea inclusion, EPA ten DHA is purified to 90% under the condition that the extraction pressure is 11-15MPa and the extraction temperature is 35℃; the distillation pressure is 11-15MPa and the distillation temperature is 40-85℃, a two-step separation method is adopted, and the EPA is purified to 67%, and the DHA is purified to more than 90%. Fish oil fatty acid ethyl ester [supercritical CO2 extraction] → [separation] EPA Method II, with herring offcuts as raw material with herring offcuts as raw material, the production of polyunsaturated fatty acids, of which the total content of EPA and DHA is 64.8%.
Method 3: Arachidonic acid as raw material Arachidonic acid as raw material, desaturated, to produce EPA. arachidonic acid [desaturated] → EPA
Method IV, supercritical multi-fluid precision distillation technology Method V, light alkali hydrolysis method for fish oil extraction
Method VI, potassium method of fish oil extraction results (n=3): fish oil extraction rate of 24.4%; acid value of 2.58; iodine value of 309; saponification value of 178.7; peroxide value of 0.070%; EPA content of 15.05%.
