D-alpha-tocopheryl Acetate Raw Materials Powder Details
D-alpha-tocopheryl Acetate Powder Usage and Synthesis.
D-alpha-tocopheryl acetate is the main raw material of various VE health food products, and can be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of water-soluble vitamin E.
Although the antioxidant property of free VE is significantly higher than that of VE ester derivatives, the VE properties of food or health food products with added VE esters are not impaired in any way because VE esters are very easily hydrolyzed by lipase catalyzed hydrolysis to the corresponding free VE.
VE ester derivatives are used in a series of industries such as food additives, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, animal feeds, nutritional enhancers, etc. Facing the huge VE market at home and abroad, it is very urgent to expand the research on the application development of VE and the development of downstream products of VE.
Uses of D-alpha-tocopheryl Acetate.
Tocopheryl acetate, also known as vitamin E acetate, is a common vitamin supplement. It is an ester of acetic acid and tocopherol (vitamin E) and is commonly used in skin care products such as skin creams.
Tocopheryl acetate is not oxidized and can penetrate the skin into living cells, where about 5% is converted to free tocopherols, providing beneficial antioxidant effects. Because the phenolic hydroxyl group is blocked, tocopheryl acetate is used as a substitute for tocopherol itself, thus providing a less acidic product with a longer shelf life.
It is believed that once absorbed into the skin, the acetate is slowly hydrolyzed to regenerate tocopherols and provide sun protection.
