Dl-malate Powder Usage and Synthesis.
The consumption of malic acid is slightly more than that of itaconic acid, and it is also a kind of organic acid with a wide range of uses.
Malic acid in the food industry, such as beverages, jams, jellies, fruit wines for acidulants; in the daily chemical industry used in toothpaste, cosmetics to improve the quality; in medicine and amino acid compound made of injectable solution, as a post-surgical nutrient solution, but also patients with liver dysfunction of a good drug; in addition, but also used as a chemical industry coatings and detergents, deodorant components.
Uses of Dl-malate.
1、Used as acidifier for refreshing beverages and foodstuffs, tone retainer for fruit beverages, preservative (emulsification stabilizer for mayonnaise, etc.).
2、It is used as a raw material for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, dentifrice, metal cleaner, buffer, coagulant inhibitor for textile industry, industrial deodorant, fluorescent whitener for polyester fiber, and a monomer for manufacturing alkyd resin.

DL-malic acid can be produced by catalyzing the addition of water to transbutylene succinic acid or maleic acid at high temperature and high pressure.
Dissolve transbutylene succinic acid in distilled water, preheat to 50 ℃ and add to the high-pressure reactor. Heated to 180-199 ℃, the pressure is about 1MPa, the reaction 8h after cooling down to below 100 ℃, the reaction will be pressed out. Concentrated in vacuum at 60°C, precipitated crystals.
Then cooling, dehydration, drying and finished product. Yield 88%. Malic acid is another major production method is fermentation, with mutant yeast on the sugar substance fermentation production.
