Tartrazine Usage and Function.
As a food colorant, my country stipulates that it can be used in fruit juice (flavored) drinks, carbonated beverages, mixed liquors, green plums, shrimp (flavored) slices, pickled side dishes, red and green silk candies, colored decorations on pastries and canned watermelon sauce, with a maximum usage of 0.1g/kg; the maximum usage in plant protein beverages and lactic acid bacteria beverages is 0.05g/kg; the maximum usage in ice cream is 0.02g/kg.

Product method of Bulk Tartrazine Powder.
It is prepared by coupling p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid with 1-(4'-sulfophenyl)-3-hydroxy-5-pyrazolone after diazotization; it can also be prepared by condensing sodium dihydroxytartrate with phenylhydrazine p-sulfonic acid, alkalizing, and then salting out the resulting pigment with salt and refining it.
