HRK Supply Sodium Sulfite raw Materials powder
Product Overview:
Sodium sulfite is an inorganic compound. It is a white granular powder at room temperature with a sulfur dioxide odor. It is stable when dry and sensitive to moisture. It is soluble in water and glycerin, insoluble in ethanol, and its aqueous solution is alkaline to litmus paper and phenolphthalein. It reacts with acid to produce toxic sulfur dioxide gas. The pH of a 1% aqueous solution is 8.3~9.4, and it has strong reducing properties. It decomposes into sodium sulfide and sodium sulfate when heated, and gradually oxidizes to sodium sulfate when placed in the air. In nature, it exists in three forms: anhydrous sodium sulfite, sodium sulfite heptahydrate, and sodium sulfite decahydrate. Among them, anhydrous sodium sulfite is the least susceptible to oxidation.

HRK Supply Sodium Sulfite raw Materials powder Details
Sodium Sulfite Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Anhydrous sodium sulfite can be used as a developer, to prepare cellulose sulfite esters, to prepare sodium thiosulfate, a preservative for dried fruits and meats, a deoxidizer in the printing and dyeing industry, and as a reducing chemical reagent. It is used in the production and synthesis of chemical and laboratory applications.
Uses of Sodium Sulfite.
Reductive bleaching agent has a bleaching effect on food and a strong inhibitory effect on oxidase in plant foods. my country stipulates that it can be used in candied fruit with a maximum usage of 2.0g/kg; it can also be used in glucose, liquid glucose, sugar, crystal sugar, maltose, candy, bamboo shoots, mushrooms and canned mushrooms, grapes, and blackcurrant concentrates with a maximum usage of 0.60g/kg. The residual amount (in terms of SO2) of bamboo shoots, mushrooms and canned mushrooms, candied fruit, grapes and blackcurrant concentrates is ≤0.05g/kg; the residual amount of potato starch is ≤0.03g/kg; the residual amount of biscuits, sugar, vermicelli and other varieties is less than 0.1g/kg; the residual amount of liquid glucose shall not exceed 0.2g/kg.
Preparation method of Sodium Sulfite.
Sodium sulfite can be produced by passing sulfur dioxide into sodium hydroxide solution. When the sulfur dioxide is excessive, sodium bisulfite is generated. Alternatively, sulfur dioxide gas is passed into sodium carbonate solution, and then sodium carbonate solution is added after saturation. Heptahydrate crystals are obtained by crystallization, and anhydrous sodium sulfite is obtained by heating and dehydration.
Product method of Bulk Sodium Sulfite Powder.
The absorption method uses food-grade soda ash solution to absorb sulfur dioxide, and then adds refined sodium hydroxide solution to saturate it. Crystallized sodium sulfite is obtained by crystallization, and then heated and dehydrated to obtain edible anhydrous sodium sulfite.
