    Product Overview:

    Sorbitol, also known as sorbitol, hexane hexaol, and D-sorbitol, is a non-volatile polyol with stable chemical properties. It is not easily oxidized by air and is easily soluble in water, hot ethanol, methanol, isopropanol, butanol, cyclohexanol, phenol, acetone, acetic acid, and dimethylformamide. It is widely distributed in the fruits of plants in nature, is not easily fermented by various microorganisms, has good heat resistance, and does not decompose at high temperatures (200°C). It was originally separated from wild strawberries by Boussingault et al. in France. The pH value of the saturated aqueous solution is 6-7. It is an isomer with mannitol, tyrosinol, and galactitol. It has a refreshing sweet taste, with a sweetness of 65% of sucrose and a very low calorific value.

It can maintain the intensity balance of sweetness, sourness and bitterness and increase the flavor of food. It can be obtained by heating and pressurizing glucose in the presence of a nickel catalyst.

    1. Sorbitol can be used to wash spheroplasts and minimize the internal osmotic flow in agarose gel in isoelectric focusing, and can be used to induce osmotic stress.

The above process is simple, and qualified products can be obtained without separation, and there is no "three wastes" pollution, but for starch, the yield is only 50%, so the cost is relatively high. If a new process of direct hydrogenation of starch saccharification liquid is adopted, the yield can reach 85%.
