    Product Overview:

    Citicoline Powder, named as Citicoline in Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2005, is a precursor of lecithin biosynthesis, and the content of lecithin in brain tissue is significantly reduced when brain function decreases. Material is mainly used for metabolic disorders after craniocerebral trauma and brain surgery, consciousness disorders, tremor palsy, neurological deafness and tinnitus, and sleeping pill poisoning. Citicoline Powder is also effective for Parkinson's syndrome and cerebral thrombosis hemiplegia.

    Citicoline Powder Usage and Synthesis.

    Citicoline Powder, named as Citicoline in Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2005, is a precursor of lecithin biosynthesis, and the content of lecithin in brain tissue is significantly reduced when brain function decreases. Citicoline Raw Material is mainly used for metabolic disorders after craniocerebral trauma and brain surgery, consciousness disorders, tremor palsy, neurological deafness and tinnitus, and sleeping pill poisoning. Citicoline Powder is also effective for Parkinson's syndrome and cerebral thrombosis hemiplegia.

    Cytidine 5′ -Diphosphocholine Powder

    Application/Function of Citicoline Powder.

    Citicoline is a mononucleotide composed of nucleic acid, cytosine, pyrophosphate and choline, and is used clinically to treat a variety of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Some studies have also shown that cytocholine can increase the brain's uptake of dopamine and glutamate, thereby improving cognitive performance.

    Cytocholine also reduces the release of free fatty acids and restores the activity of mitochondrial ATPase and cell membrane Na+/K+ ATPase, thereby alleviating brain damage. However, the pathophysiological mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases are complex and involve cholinergic deficiency, excitotoxicity of glutamate, neuroinflammation, immune dysregulation, hypoglucose metabolism and disruption of the blood-brain barrier.

    Cytidine 5′ -Diphosphocholine Powder

    It is used for acute craniocerebral trauma and post-brain surgery disorders of consciousness. Cerebral thrombosis, multiple cerebral embolism, tremor palsy, post-stroke sequelae, cerebral blood supply deficiency due to cerebral arteriosclerosis, hypnotics and carbon monoxide poisoning and various organic encephalopathies.

    It is a precursor of lecithin biosynthesis and can promote lecithin biosynthesis. The product can promote the recovery and awakening of brain function. It is indicated for disorders of consciousness in traumatic brain injury, post-stroke, etc. It is also used for disorders of consciousness due to acute injury to the central nervous system.

    Pharmacological Effects of Citicoline Powder

    Citicoline stabilizes cell membranes by stimulating S-adenosyl-L-methionine, increasing dendritic complexity and spine density of motor neuron structures, improving neural plasticity in non-damaged areas, and promoting functional recovery;

    May increase phospholipid synthesis and repair neuronal cell membranes by upregulating phosphorylcholine cytidylyltransferase (CCT), reducing water-soluble phospholipid levels, and inhibiting secretory phospholipase A2 (PLA2) activity or by inhibiting TNF-a/IL-1b, inhibiting PLA2 activation, and reducing phospholipid loss;

    It also increases the expression of anti-apoptotic factors such as Bcl-2 as well as inhibits glutamate release to reduce cytotoxicity; promotes rapid repair of damaged cell surfaces and mitochondrial membranes, maintains cellular compactness and biological function, as well as reduces free fatty acid release, thereby reducing the production of toxic oxygenated metabolites as well as free radicals;

    It can increase vasopressin and plasma adrenaline levels, and stimulate the release of growth hormone, thyrotropin and luteinizing hormone.

    Production method of Citicoline Powder

    There are more methods of preparation of Citicoline sodium, mainly three ways.

    • 1. Microbial fermentation method. This method has problems such as low concentration of product and unstable yield.
    • 2. It is organic chemical synthesis method. This method is difficult to separate the product from the condensation agent, not suitable for medicinal use, low reaction conversion rate, many by-products, high cost, serious environmental pollution and other problems.
    • 3. is the enzymatic synthesis method, such as the use of brewer's yeast mud and other microorganisms for biosynthesis. Using free brewer's yeast mud cells enzymatic synthesis, the process is simple, high conversion rate and low cost. The production process of sodium cytosine synthesis by enzymatic synthesis can be divided into two major parts: enzymatic synthesis process and extraction and purification process.

    It can be extracted from liver or yeast, or synthesized chemically. The synthetic method is based on the reaction of cytosine-5'-diphosphate with ethyleneimine to form cytosine-5'-diphosphate aminoethyl ester, which is then methylated with iodomethane. It can also be obtained by direct condensation of cytosine-5'-phosphate amide with choline phosphate ester.
