Prednisolone raw materials Prednisolone Powder
Product Overview:
Prednisolone is also known as hydroprednisone, chloroprednisone, prednisolone, dehydrohydrocortisone, Pariet, prednisolone acetate, acetate is a white or almost white crystalline powder, odourless, bitter taste. Almost insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol or chloroform. It is an adrenal glucocorticoid and corticosteroid medication, and is a medium-acting glucocorticoid. Its efficacy is comparable to prednisone, its anti-inflammatory effect is stronger, water and salt metabolism is very weak.

Prednisolone raw materials Prednisolone Powder Details
Prednisolone Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Prednisolone is readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and exists in its active form, which does not require hepatic conversion to exert its biological effects. After oral administration, the blood concentration reaches the peak in about one to two hours, and the T1/2 is 2-3 hours. When injected intramuscularly, the sodium phosphate salt of the product is very readily absorbed, whereas its acetate suspension is slowly absorbed. In the blood most of the product is bound to plasma proteins (but the binding rate is lower than that of hydrocortisone), and the free and bound metabolites are excreted in the urine, partly in their original form, and a small proportion may be excreted in breast milk.
Uses of Prednisolone.
For rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatic fever, lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, multiple myeloma, etc.
The dosage depends on the size of the joints and should be operated under sterile conditions to prevent infection.
Prednisolone is mainly used in allergic and inflammatory diseases. Because of its weak sodium retention effect, it is generally not used in the replacement therapy of hypoadrenocorticism.
It should be avoided in patients with hyperadrenocorticism, hypertension, atherosclerosis, heart failure, diabetes mellitus, psychosis, epilepsy, post-surgical patients, and in patients with gastric or duodenal ulcers, intestinal disorders or chronic malnutrition. Do not use this class of drugs for general infections.
Acute infection poisoning, must be applied in conjunction with a sufficient amount of effective antibacterial drugs, for severe tuberculosis should be combined with a sufficient amount of anti-tuberculosis drugs, and according to the condition, timely reduction and discontinuation.
Pharmacological Effect of Prednisolone.
Adrenocortical Corticosteroids. Supraphysiological amounts of glucocorticoids have a variety of pharmacological effects including anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and immunosuppressive effects.
1, anti-inflammatory effect: glucocorticoids reduce and prevent tissue response to inflammation, thus reducing the manifestation of inflammation.
2, immunosuppressive effect: prevent or inhibit cell-mediated immune response, delayed allergic reaction, reduce the number of T lymphocytes, monocytes eosinophils, reduce the binding capacity of immunoglobulin and cell surface receptors, and inhibit the synthesis and release of interleukin, thus reducing the conversion of T cells to lymphoblastoid cells and reducing the expansion of primary immune response.
3、Anti-toxicity, anti-shock effect: glucocorticoids can counteract the stimulation reaction of bacterial endotoxin to the organism, reduce cellular damage, and play the role of protecting the organism.
