Wogonin Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi is the dried root of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, family Labiatae. Born in grasslands, high dry gravelly slopes; mainly produced in Hebei, Nei Mongol, Shanxi, Shandong, Shaanxi and other places.
Uses of Wogonin.
Scutellaria baicalensis aqueous decoction and wine precipitate had significant inhibitory effects on yeast foot swelling in rats; methanol extract of Scutellaria baicalensis and baicalin, baicalin, and baicalein all inhibited the increase in vascular permeability induced by acetic acid in mice, and reduced the acute foot-plantar oedema induced by synthesized polyamines in rats, and inhibited the secondary damage of bone degeneration in adjuvant arthritis in rats.
Baicalin and glycosides inhibited the hyperpermeability of mouse ear capillaries induced by experimental inflammation.
Compound scutellaria injection, anti-inflammatory oral solution and scutellaria soup with scutellaria as the main drug have obvious anti-inflammatory effects.
Pharmacological Effect of Bulk Wogonin Powder.
Baicalein is a flavonoid extracted from the roots of Scutellaria baicalensis, family Labiatae, and possesses a variety of pharmacological activities, including antioxidant activity, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory effects. In addition, it has neuroprotective effects during cerebral ischaemia.
Experiments with the excised small intestine of mice showed a poppy-like antispasmodic effect, but the effect was weak, about one-fifth of that of poppy.
Oral administration of baicalein to rats reduced ethanol-induced triglyceride levels. In addition, baicalein has anticancer and diuretic effects.
