Raw Materials Tannic Acid Powder
Product Overview:
Tannins are also known as Chinese tannins, ellagic acid, and gallotannins. The structure is still unclear, and it is generally believed to be an ester formed by combining the five hydroxyl groups of glucose and galloyl galloyl. Pentaphyllum is extracted and concentrated to make industrial tannins. After refining, it can be made into medicinal or reagent tannins.

Raw Materials Tannic Acid Powder Details
Tannic Acid Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Tannic acid is a strong fixative, fixing many proteins as well as sugar derivatives. It is also a mordant that enhances the uptake of heavy metals and thus sample contrast, especially in extracellular membranes, elastic fibres, cell junctions, muscle fibres, etc.
Tannic acid has a slow penetration rate and therefore is usually used only as an additive to fixatives with a fast penetration rate.
According to the introduction, tannic acid is usually used together with saponin to increase its penetration rate.
Uses and Function of Tannic Acid.
Clarifying agent, astringent, crude oil deodorant, aroma aid; tannic acid can be used for tanning, ink manufacturing, paper and silk gluing, boiler descaling, etc., but also for mordant, beer and wine clarifying agent, rubber coagulant and so on.
It can be used in printing and dyeing, metallurgy, medicine and other industries, tannic acid itself has low toxicity. Precipitation and gravimetric determination of beryllium, aluminium, gallium, indium, niobium, tantalum and zirconium.
Specific determination of copper, iron, vanadium, cerium and cobalt. Precipitant for proteins and alkaloids. External indicator in the titration of lead with ammonium molybdate. Dye mordant.
Characteristic of Tannic Acid.
Pale yellow amorphous powder or loose glossy scaly or spongy solid, can turn black when exposed to air. Odourless, with strong astringent taste. Soluble in water, ethanol, acetone, almost insoluble in benzene, chloroform, ether and petroleum ether.
Product method of Bulk Tannic Acid Powder.
Put 100kg of refined naphthalene into sulfonation kettle, warm up to 125℃, add 120kg of concentrated sulfuric acid under stirring, and react at 155~165℃ for 6~8h. Take sample to measure the end point, if it is completely dissolved in water, it proves that the sulfonation is complete. Gradually lower the temperature to 110 ℃, add a small amount of water to dilute.
At about 80 ℃ will be material hydraulic pressure into the condensation kettle. At about 70 ℃ drop 37% formaldehyde aqueous solution of 39kg, drop after the reaction at 80 ~ 90 ℃ for 3h, the greenish-black viscous liquid is the finished product.
