Haematogenin is an isoquinoline alkaloid with various biological activities.

1、Anti-bacterial effect

Bacteriostatic activity studies show that haematogenine has different degrees of inhibition of six strains of aquatic pathogens, including the strongest activity against Aeromonas hydrophila hydrophilic subspecies, whose MIC and MBC are 12.5mg/L and 25mg/L, respectively.

The weakest activity was against Vibrio harveyi, Vibrio eel, and Aeromonas salmonicida subspecies Shi, with MIC and MBC of 50mg/L and lOOmg/L, respectively.

Yu et al. (2006) showed that haematoxylin hydrochloride had strong antimicrobial effects on Aspergillus xylosus, Penicillium, Rhizopus, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus oryzae, Trichoderma viride, and yeast, and the lowest inhibitory concentrations of haematoxylin hydrochloride against the eight species of fungi were very low, with those of Penicillium and Trichoderma viride at 80g/mL, and those of Aspergillus xylosus, Rhizopus, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus oryzae and yeast at Less than 40ug/mL, as a natural antibacterial agent of plant origin, its antibacterial spectrum is wide, and the effect is very obvious.
