Betulin materials Betulin Powder
Product Overview:
Betulin, also known as birch ester alcohol, birch alcohol, and birch brain, is a class of triterpenoid compounds derived from the bark of Betula alba, whose use in the bark is unknown, but which can be used as a precursor for compounds with more biological functions, such as betulinic acid (carboxylic acid group replacing the alcohol group).

Betulin materials Betulin Powder Details
Betulin Powder Usage and Synthesis.
1. Betulinol and its derivatives show great potential as biological agents in HIV and cancer therapy, acting by interfering with the latter stages of the viral life cycle, being associated with viral entry and growth to maturity.
2. Effective anti-various tumour drugs that directly cause certain types of tumour cells to initiate a self-destructive apoptotic process and can slow down the growth of several types of tumour cells.
3. May reduce diet-induced obesity, reduce lipid levels in serum and tissues, and improve insulin sensitivity.
4. They have mild anti-inflammatory properties at higher concentrations and their anti-inflammatory properties are mainly attributed to the inhibition of non-neurogenic pathways.
5. In vivo Betulinol inhibits the maturation of sterol regulatory element binding proteins (SBERPs), which in turn reduces cholesterol and fatty acid biosynthesis.
6. In addition, it also has the activities of inhibiting proteolysis in hair fibre, improving the gloss of damaged hair, promoting hair growth, etc. It can be used in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.
Uses of Betulin.
It has the activities of anti-inflammatory, anti-virus, inhibiting proteolysis in hair fibre, improving the gloss of damaged hair, promoting hair growth, etc. It can be applied in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.
Pharmacological Effect of Betulin.
Betulinol is a chemical constituent present in the bark of birch trees and has a variety of pharmacological effects.
According to research, Betulinol has anti-inflammatory, antiviral, inhibits proteolysis in hair fibres, improves the shine of damaged hair, promotes hair growth and other activities.
In addition, Betulinol is able to maintain normal capillary resistance, reduce vascular permeability, and have a positive effect on the cardiovascular system. At the same time, Betulinol is also able to inhibit proteolysis in hair fibres, improve the shine of damaged hair and promote hair growth.
Therefore, Betulinol can be used in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.
Extraction method of Bulk Betulin Powder.
1. Betulinol was extracted by ethanol solution, heated and refluxed for about 5h, the extract was distilled under reduced pressure and then recrystallised with ethanol for 2~3 times to obtain the crude product of betulinol.
2. The crude product was recrystallised with methanol/chloroform (1:1), 80g of crude product required about 300mL of methanol and chloroform solution; it was left to stand overnight, and then filtered to obtain white needle-like Betulinol solid.
3. reflux on the extracted solution designed to ultrasonic treatment for 20min, through the destruction of the bark tissue, to improve the extraction rate of betulinol and product purity.
4. The optimal conditions for supercritical CO2 fluid extraction were as follows: modifier dosage of 115 mL/g birch bark powder; extraction pressure of 20 MPa; extraction temperature of 55°C; liquid CO2 flow rate of 10 kg/h.
