Neohesperidin Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Neohesperidin, also known as neohesperidin, is a white crystalline powder with a CAS number of 13241-33-3. It is mainly derived from the dried young fruit of Citrus Aurantium L., the sour orange and the cultivated variant or sweet orange of the Brassicaceae family, i.e., Hedera heliotrope.
Neohesperidin has many effects, such as curing capillary fragility and excessive protein permeability in plasma. It is also widely used in the food, pharmaceutical and daily chemical industries as a natural non-nutritive sweetener.
Neohesperidin dihydrochalcone is a derivative of neohesperidin, which is 1,500-2,000 times sweeter than sucrose, and is widely used as a sweetener in fruit juices, fruit wines, beverages, pastries and pharmaceutical formulations.
In China, the Neohesperidin industry report provides an analytical study of the current industry development overview and a comprehensive assessment and forecast of the future market outlook.
Uses of Neohesperidin.
1. Maintaining the health of capillaries: Neohesperidin can cure the problem of capillary fragility and excessive protein permeability in plasma.
2. Adjuvant treatment of cardiovascular system diseases: Neohesperidin has the effect of maintaining osmotic pressure, enhancing capillary toughness, shortening bleeding time, and lowering cholesterol, therefore, it can be used as adjuvant treatment of cardiovascular system diseases in clinic.
3. Preventing arteriosclerosis and myocardial infarction: Neohesperidin can be used as raw material of many drugs to prevent arteriosclerosis and myocardial infarction.
4. Natural antioxidant: Neohesperidin can be used as a natural antioxidant in the food industry.
5. Natural non-nutritive sweetener: after preparation, neohesperidin is a natural non-nutritive sweetener, its sweetness is 500-700 times that of sucrose compared with sucrose, with high sweetness, low calorific value, non-toxicity, safety and other characteristics, and it can be used in food, medicine and daily chemical industry.
Neohesperidin is mainly found in the peel of citrus plants, of which the mature peel and tissues have the highest content. There are various methods for extracting neohesperidin, among which the alkaline extraction and acid precipitation method is simple, low cost and high extraction rate.
In vitro studies of Bulk Neohesperidin Powder.
Neohesperidin, a flavonoid glycoside found in citrus fruits, is an antioxidant.
Neohesperidin acted as an antioxidant in the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryldydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging assay with an IC50 of 22.31 μg/mL. neohesperidin (50 mg/kg) significantly inhibited HCl/ethanol-induced gastric injury and increased mucus content.
In pylorus ligated rats, neohesperidin (50 mg/kg) significantly reduced the amount of gastric secretion and gastric acid production, and elevated the pH value. In addition, neohesperidin inhibited the growth of Caco-2, CEM/ADR5000 and CCRF-CEM leukemia cells with IC50 values of 0.17, 0.17, and 0.12 mM, respectively.
