tert-Butylhydroquinone Powder Usage and Synthesis.
TBHQ is a safe and efficient antioxidant for edible fats and oils, suitable for vegetable oils and lard. It is especially suitable for frying food due to its high melting and boiling points. TBHQ also has good anti-bacterial, mold and yeast effects, which can enhance the preservation effect of high oil and water foods.
For example, adding in peanut oil can significantly extend the shelf-life, antioxidant effect of other varieties of four times; in the sausage and dried fish products can be added to prevent the product ha change; in fried food and instant noodles can be added to significantly extend the shelf-life, to prevent ha change.

Uses and functions of tert-Butylhydroquinone.
It has superior antioxidant performance, with stronger antioxidant capacity than BHT, BHA, PG (propyl gallate) and vitamin E; it can effectively inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other bacteria, as well as microorganisms such as Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus heterocytus, Aspergillus flavus and other microorganisms.
The antioxidant function of TBHQ is much better than conventional antioxidants. In terms of vegetable oils, the antioxidant capacity is in the following order: TBHQ>PG>BHT>BHA. adding TBHQ to food can not only delay the oxidative deterioration of fats and oils, but also inhibit a variety of microorganisms. TBHQ can be used as antioxidant in edible oils and fats, fried foods, dried fish products, cookies, instant noodles, quick-cooked rice, canned dried fruits and cured meat products, and can also be used in cosmetics.
Antioxidant. Tert-butyl hydroquinone is suitable for crude oils and highly unsaturated fats such as sunflower oil. For cooking oil and bakery products, it is suitable to be used in combination with BHA, but it is applicable to boiled and fried products. The general dosage is 100~200mg/kg.
Used as PVC anti-fisheye agent and food additives, as antioxidant, can be used in edible fats and oils, fried foods, cookies, instant noodles, quick-cooked rice, canned dried fruits, dried fish products and cured meat products, the maximum use level is 0.2g/kg.
Usage method of tert-Butylhydroquinone.
◆ Direct method: Heat the fat to 35-60℃, add TBHQ according to the required proportion, stir vigorously for 10-15 minutes to dissolve it, and then stir continuously (no need to stir vigorously to avoid too much air entering) for about 20 minutes to make sure TBHQ is evenly distributed.
◆Seed method first completely dissolve TBHQ in a small amount of grease or 95% alcohol solution, formulated as 5 to 10% TBHQ grease or alcohol solution, and then directly or by dosage to add fat or oil stirring to distribute evenly.
Product method of Bulk tert-Butylhydroquinone Powder.
Obtained by reacting 2,6 a di-tert-butylbenzene with KOH in ethanol followed by the addition of 2 a furazolidinium, carrying out a reflux reaction and then leaving to precipitate the first product, which is then washed with ethanol and recrystallized (IISP4222883, Sep 16, 1980).
