Raw Materials Powder Potassium clavulanate
Product Overview:
Potassium clavulanate is a β-lactam antibiotic with enzyme inhibition obtained from the culture medium of roydostreptomycin. It has only weak antibacterial activity and is of no value when used alone. However, it can be firmly combined with most β-lactam enzymes to generate irreversible binding compounds to inhibit the damage of β-lactam enzymes to the antibacterial properties of antibiotics and increase the antibacterial spectrum and efficacy of some antibiotics. Its broad-spectrum inhibition of β-lactamase not only has an effect on staphylococcus enzymes, but also has an effect on β-lactamase produced by most G-bacteria, so it is an effective β-lactamase inhibitor. It is often used in combination with penicillin to overcome bacterial resistance and improve curative effect. Such as amoxicillin - clavulanate potassium tablets, ticacillin - Clavulanate potassium injections, etc.

Raw Materials Powder Potassium clavulanate Details
Potassium clavulanate Powder Usage and Synthesis.
It can be used in combination with semi-synthetic penicillins to treat peripheral infections caused by Escherichia coli, Proteus, clostridium, influenzae, dicoccus pneumoniae, etc.
Uses and functions of Potassium clavulanate.
1. The combined application of potassium clavulanate with penicillins and cephalosporins has significantly enhanced the antibacterial effect on zymogenic bacteria.
2. The combined application of ticacillin has a strong effect on enterobacteriaceae bacteria and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, but it is not suitable for the infection of ticacillin-resistant Pseudomonas and Enterobacteriae.
3. Clavulanic acid can improve the antibacterial action of amoxicillin against β-lactamase producing bacteria such as Klebsiella and Proteus vulcanis by 4-32 times, and the antibacterial activity against Haemophilus influenzae by 32 times.
4. This product is not effective when applied alone. Often combined with penicillin drugs such as amoxicillin for enzymatic and non-enzymatic staphylococcus aureus, staphylococcus, streptococcus, Escherichia coli, Pasteurella and other causes of dog, cat skin and soft tissue infection; It is also used for respiratory tract, digestive tract and urinary tract infection caused by sensitive bacteria in pigs and poultry. The treatment of typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever has also achieved good curative effect.
Pharmacological action of Potassium clavulanate.
Potassium clavulanate can be firmly bound to a variety of β-lactamases to form irreversible binding compounds. It can act on specific parts of the cell membrane and has weak antibacterial activity. Potassium clavulanate is a kind of enzyme inhibitor with wide inhibitory spectrum, strong inhibitory effect and good permeability of cell membrane.
It has a strong inhibitory effect on almost all β-lactamases, including penicillinase, broad spectrum enzyme and ultra-broad spectrum enzyme that can inactivate the third generation cephalosporin, especially on the plasmid-mediated β-lactamase. The inhibitory effect of this product is obviously better than that of sulbactam, but it is less than that of sulbactam on the chromosomally mediated β-lactamase. This product is often combined with penicillin drugs, not only can improve the antibacterial activity of common enzyme resistant gram-positive and negative bacteria, but also improve the antibacterial activity of some pathogenic bacteria that are not sensitive to penicillin, such as anaerobic bacteria, pseudomonas aeruginosa, and some deep tissue infections such as lung infection, abdominal infection and bone and joint infection.
Clavulanic acid is stable in stomach acid and is easily absorbed and not affected by food. Blood peak concentration was observed in monogastric animals 1 ~ 2h after oral administration. It is widely distributed in the body and can quickly penetrate into body fluids and most tissues, the concentration of drugs in the chest and abdominal water can exceed more than 50% of the plasma concentration, and the effective therapeutic concentration can be reached in the bile, middle ear and tonsil, but the concentration in the cerebrospinal fluid increases when suffering from meningitis.
