Zinc carnosine is a chelate of zinc and L-carnosine, full name: b-Alanyl-l-histidinato zinc (beta-Alanyl-Histidinato Zinc). It contains 23% zinc and 77% L-carnosine. It is a drug approved in Japan, a gastric mucosal protectant, and is clinically used to treat gastric ulcers.

Polyprezin is a zinc complex of L-carnosine. L-carnosine is a dipeptide composed of β-alanine and L-histidine, which is an antioxidant; Zinc promotes wound healing.
