Veterinary medicine Bulk sulfamonomethoxine Raw Powder
Product Overview:
Sulfamethoxazole is one of the most potent antibacterial of the sulfonamides, it is a white or off-white crystalline powder, odourless, almost tasteless and darkens gradually when exposed to light. It can be used to inhibit most gram-positive and negative bacteria. This product belongs to the broad-spectrum antibacterial drugs, is the most antibacterial activity in vitro and in vivo sulfonamides, most of the gram-positive and negative bacteria have a strong inhibition, the bacterial resistance to this drug is slow.

Veterinary medicine Bulk sulfamonomethoxine Raw Powder Details
Sulfamethoxazole is one of the most potent antibacterial of the sulfonamides, it is a white or off-white crystalline powder, odourless, almost tasteless and darkens gradually when exposed to light. It can be used to inhibit most gram-positive and negative bacteria. This product belongs to the broad-spectrum antibacterial drugs, is the most antibacterial activity in vitro and in vivo sulfonamides, most of the gram-positive and negative bacteria have a strong inhibition, the bacterial resistance to this drug is slow. It has good antibacterial effect on both Gram-positive and negative bacteria such as Streptococcus pyogenes, Salmonella and Pneumococcus. Sulfonamides are structurally similar to p-aminobenzoic acid, which can compete with aminobenzoic acid for the enzyme dihydrofolate synthase in the bacterial body, hindering the synthesis of dihydrofolate and ultimately affecting the synthesis of nucleic acids and inhibiting the growth and reproduction of bacteria. The effect of sulfonamides can be antagonised by aminobenzoic acid and its derivatives (procaine, bupivacaine). In addition, pus as well as tissue breakdown products provide substances essential for bacterial growth and antagonise sulphonamides.
Uses and functions of sulfamonomethoxine.
Sulfamethoxazole, i.e. Sulfanilamide-6-methoxypyrimidine, has a strong antibacterial effect, and also has a significant effect on coccidia and toxoplasmosis. It is easily absorbed internally, with low acetylation rate, not easy to produce crystal urine and haematuria, and is used for the treatment of various sensitive bacterial infections and avian coccidiosis and toxoplasmosis in pigs.
It has the strongest effect on Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, Salmonella, Bartonella, Corynebacterium septicum, Escherichia coli, and also has antimicrobial effect on Staphylococcus, Aspergillus, Bacillus anthracis and so on, so it is widely used in respiratory, gastrointestinal and urinary tract infections of livestock and poultry.
However, it is more commonly used for emergency treatment of outbreaks of leucocytosis and coccidiosis in poultry. It is also highly effective against toxoplasmosis in pigs.
This product is a newer long-acting sulfonamide, the antibacterial spectrum is similar to that of sulfadiazine, but the antibacterial effect and the protective efficacy against animal infections are stronger than those of other sulfonamides.
As a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent, sulfamethoxazole is effective against haemolytic streptococci, pneumococci and Escherichia coli. It is mainly used for the treatment of urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, and also kills Mycoplasma, Worker and coccidiosis in animals.
Preparation of sulfamonomethoxine.
Sulfamethoxazole sodium is commonly used in clinical practice, and the preparation method of sulfamethoxazole sodium includes the following steps:
(1) Add sulfamethoxazole and sodium hydroxide to an organic solvent, and react with stirring for 0.5-2 hours at a temperature of 54-98°C to obtain Solution A;
(2) Add activated carbon to solution A, stir to decolourise for 0.3-0.8 hours, filter while hot, obtain filtrate;
(3) The filtrate is first naturally cooled to 20-30 ℃, then at 0-5 ℃, keep warm for 1-3 hours, filtration, to get the filtrate;
(4) Wash the filtrate with a small amount of anhydrous ethanol, and dry it in vacuum at 55~60℃ for 2-4 hours to obtain sodium sulfamoylmethoxypyrimidine.
