Raw material intermediate API Neomycin Sulphate Powder
Product Overview:
Neomycin Sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. It has good antibacterial effect on Enterobacteriaceae such as Staphylococcus spp. (methicillin-sensitive strain), Corynebacterium spp., Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp. and Aspergillus spp. It is poorly active against various groups of Streptococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae and Enterococcus spp. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, anaerobic bacteria, etc. are resistant to this product. Bacteria have partial or complete cross-resistance between streptomycin, neomycin and kanamycin, gentamicin.

Neomycin Sulphate Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Pseudomonas aeruginosa, anaerobes and other resistant to the product. Bacteria have partial or complete cross-resistance to streptomycin, neomycin and kanamycin, gentamicin. Neomycin systemic administration is associated with significant nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity, so it is currently limited to oral or topical application.
Uses of Neomycin Sulphate.
Blocks voltage-sensitive Ca2+ channels without affecting the neuronal Na+/Ca2+ reverse transporter protein (antiporter). Binds to ribosomal 30S and 50S subunits causing protein miscoding; inhibits initiation and prolongation of protein synthesis. Antimicrobial spectrum: Gram-negative and positive bacteria.
It can be used for the prevention and treatment of dysentery, diarrhoea and stunting caused by E. coli and Salmonella in pigs, chickens, cattle and other livestock and poultry. It can also be used as the treatment of enteritis in fish and shrimp in aquaculture.
Broad-spectrum antibiotic with good effect on B. aureus, B. diphtheriae and B. anthracis.
Pharmacological Effect of Neomycin Sulphate.
Neomycin Sulfate Tablets:
Neomycin is rarely absorbed orally (about 3 per cent), but larger doses taken orally over a long period of time can still be absorbed in considerable amounts when there is ulceration or inflammation of the intestinal mucosa, and the blood concentration can be significantly increased, especially in cases of renal hypoplasia. Most of it is excreted in the faeces without change after oral administration.
Neomycin Sulfate Eye Drops:
Neomycin Sulfate Eye Drops are seldom absorbed into the intraocular tissues or systemic circulation after administration of eye drops.
Drug interactions of Bulk Neomycin Sulphate Powder.
1. Long-term combination with oral contraceptives (containing oestrogen) may lead to contraceptive failure and increase the incidence of haemorrhage.
2. Oral neomycin may affect the absorption of digitalis glycosides, fluorouracil, methotrexate, penicillin V, vitamin A, or vitamin B12, reducing their efficacy; therefore, patients should be closely observed for changes in the efficacy of digitalis glycosides. When colchicine and vitamin A are combined in patients taking oral neomycin, their vitamin B12 requirement may increase.
3.Neomycin Sulphate should not be combined with other nephrotoxic drugs and ototoxic drugs.
4. When combined with neuromuscular blocking drugs, it may increase the effect of neuromuscular blocking, resulting in skeletal muscle weakness.
