Clotrimazole Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Clotrimazole Powder is a synthetic pyrrole antifungal, inhibits a wide range of pathogenic fungi and can also be bactericidal at high concentrations.
Antifungal Clotrimazole PowderWhite powder or colorless crystalline powder. Broad-spectrum antifungal.
Clotrimazole Raw Materials Used for systemic fungal infections, also used topically for localized fungal infections.
Anti-mycobacterial agents, used for the treatment of epidermis. Anti-mycobacterial agents, used for the treatment of epidermal and deep mold infections.
Uses and functions of Clotrimazole Powder.
Clinical topical application of 1% Clotrimazole cream or solution for the treatment of skin infections such as Candida fungal infections, lichen planus, tinea pedis, tinea pedis, tinea pedis and other skin infections.
Clotrimazole vaginal tablets (100mg) are administered to treat vaginal infections of Candida and Trichomonas.
Side effects include local irritation and burning sensation. Oral administration treats deep mycobacterial infections, but the toxic side effects are heavier, with gastrointestinal tract irritation, neutropenia and liver function abnormalities.
1.Oral administration:
- (1) For the treatment of Candida infection in oropharynx.
- (2) For prophylaxis of oropharyngeal Candida infection in patients with chemotherapy, immunocompromised or defective function.
2. Local topical application:
- (1) Skin Candida infections.
- (2)Tinea pedis, tinea cruris and tinea corporis caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Microsporum and Epidermophyton; tinea pedis caused by Trichophyton furfurfurfur.
3. Transvaginal administration:
- (1)Vaginitis caused by Candida or other fungi.
- (2)Infectious leukorrhea caused by yeast.
- (3) Vaginal secondary infections caused by bacteria sensitive to this drug.
Pharmacological Effects of Clotrimazole Powder.
Clotrimazole is a synthetic pyrrole antifungal drug, which has inhibitory effect on a variety of pathogenic fungi, and can also have bactericidal effect when the concentration is high. Clotrimazole inhibits the biosynthesis of sterols such as ergosterol by interfering with the activity of cytochrome P450; it damages the cell membrane of fungi and changes its permeability, resulting in the leakage of important intracellular substances; it can also inhibit the biosynthesis of glycerol triglyceride and phospholipids in fungi;
- (1) By reducing the activity of cytochrome P450, thus inhibiting the biosynthesis of sterols such as ergosterol in fungal cell membranes; damaging fungal cell membranes and altering their permeability, resulting in the leakage of important intracellular substances.
- (2)Clotrimazole can also inhibit the biosynthesis of triacylglycerol and phospholipids in fungi.
- (3)It can also inhibit the activity of oxidase and peroxidase, leading to excessive accumulation of hydrogen peroxide in the cell, causing degeneration of fungal subcellular structure and cell necrosis.
- (4) Inhibits the transformation of Candida albicans from spores to invasive hyphae.
The product can also inhibit the activity of oxidation and peroxidase, causing excessive accumulation of peroxides in the cell, resulting in fungal subcellular structure degeneration and necrosis. Clotrimazole has broad-spectrum antifungal activity, it has good antimicrobial effect on Sclerotium epidermidis, Trichophyton rubrum, Aspergillus, Stachybotrys, Cryptococcus spp. and Candida spp. It also has a certain antimicrobial activity on Schenk's spore filamentous fungi, dermatophytes, coccidia, and tissue plasma organisms.
Production method of Clotrimazole Powder.
It is obtained from o-chlorobenzoic acid by esterification, addition, hydrolysis, chlorination and condensation. It can also be obtained from o-chlorotoluene by chlorination to o-chlorotrichlorobenzene, and then condensed with benzene in the presence of aluminum trichloride to form diphenyl-(2-chlorophenyl)chloromethane, and finally condensed with imidazole to obtain Clotrimazole.
