Fosfomycin sodium can be combined with a bacterial cell wall synthetase, preventing the bacteria from using the relevant substances to synthesize the cell wall of the first step reaction, thus having a bactericidal effect. It has antibacterial effect on staphylococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, gonococcus, Proteus mirabilis, Typhoid Bacillus, Serratia Bacillus, most of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus faecalis, some indole-positive Proteus and some Klebsiella, Enterobacter and other bacteria.
