Zinc Lactate Raw Materials powder Zinc Lactate
Product Overview:
Zinc lactate is a compound with the chemical formula Zn(C₃H₅O₃)₂. It can be prepared by the reaction of calcium lactate and zinc sulfate, or by the reaction of lactic acid and zinc oxide. It exists as anhydrous and hydrate, and its adsorbed water is lost at 70 °C and crystal water is removed at 120 °C. Rat experiments show that its bioavailability is 1.3~1.5 times that of zinc gluconate. It can be used as a catalyst for the synthesis of lactide from lactic acid

Zinc Lactate Raw Materials powder Zinc Lactate Details
Zinc Lactate powder Usage and Synthesis.
Zinc lactate is a zinc food fortifier with excellent performance and ideal effect. It plays an important role in the intellectual and physical development of infants and adolescents, and its absorption effect is better than inorganic zinc. It can be added to a variety of products such as milk, milk powder, and cereal foods.
my country stipulates (all in terms of zinc): the dosage in dairy products is 30-60 mg/kg; the dosage in infant foods is 25-70 mg/kg; the dosage in cereals and their products is 5-10 mg/kg; the dosage in drinking liquids is 5-10 mg/kg; the dosage in children's oral liquids is 0.6-1.0 g/kg (in terms of zinc lactate).
Uses and functions of Zinc Lactate.
Zinc lactate can be used in the production of zinc-supplemented foods, nutritional oral liquids, children's zinc-supplemented tablets and granules. It is a good food zinc fortifier and is widely used in cakes, beverages, various nutritional liquids, flour, nutritional salt, dairy products, and soy products. It plays an important role in the intellectual and physical development of infants and adolescents, and its absorption effect is better than that of inorganic zinc.
Zinc lactate can also replace glycerin as a flavoring agent and antifreeze moisturizer for tobacco products; in cosmetics, it can also be used in facial cleansers, beauty creams, lotions, shampoos, and facial masks.
Physiological characteristics of Zinc Lactate.
Product Method of Bulk Zinc Lactate.
1. Double decomposition method
Add 13.0g of calcium lactate (pentahydrate) and 12.1g of zinc sulfate (heptahydrate) into 100mL of water, stir, heat and reflux to react. After the reaction is completed, filter while hot and wash with water to remove the calcium sulfate precipitate (light blue-white powder). The filtrate is a milky white translucent liquid. When cooled and left to stand, white crystals will precipitate. Finally, filter, wash with water and dry to obtain 8g of white powder (melting point 276-277℃), with a yield of 64%. (C3H503)2Ca+ZnChemicalbookSO4→(C3H5O3)2Zn+CaSO4↓
2. Neutralization method
Add zinc oxide powder to the finished lactic acid solution, heat and stir to react for 2-3h, cool and crystallize the reactants, filter and separate them, wash with water several times, and then dry them at 60-65℃ to obtain the finished product. This method is simple in process and has good quality, but the cost is high. 2C3H6O3+ZnO→(C3H5O3)2Zn+H2O
3. Lactic acid can also be obtained by fermenting starch, and then reacting with zinc salt to obtain zinc lactate.
