Ceftriaxone sodium is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic which, like other third-generation cephalosporins, is resistant to both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. In most cases, it is considered to be as safe and effective as cefotaxime .

It is used for lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract and biliary tract infections due to sensitive causative organisms, as well as abdominal infections, pelvic infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, sepsis, meningitis, and prophylaxis of infections during surgery.

Physiological Effect of Ceftriaxone Sodium Sterile.

This product is a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It has strong activity against Enterobacteriaceae.

The MIC90 for Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter aerogenes, Flurodex citrobacter, indole-positive Aspergillus, Prevotella spp. and Serratia spp. ranged from 0.12 to 0.25 mg/L.

Enterobacter cloacae, Enterobacteriaceae spp. and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were poorly susceptible to the product. It has strong antibacterial effect against Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Neisseria meningitidis, and also has good effect against Streptococcus haemolyticus and Pneumococcus.

The MIC against Staphylococcus aureus is 2-4mg/L. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus are resistant to the product. The majority of S. fragilis are resistant to the product.
