HRK Supply Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose Powder
Product Overview:
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is the propylene glycol ether of methylcellulose, in which the hydroxypropyl and methyl groups are bonded to the anhydrous glucose ring of cellulose by ether bonds. It is white to off-white cellulose powder or granules, and has the characteristics of being soluble in cold water and insoluble in hot water, similar to methylcellulose. Its solubility in organic solvents is better than that in water, and it can be dissolved in anhydrous methanol and ethanol solutions, as well as in organic solvents such as chlorinated hydrocarbons and ketones.

HRK Supply Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose Powder Details
Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose powder Usage and Synthesis.
1. Construction industry: As a water retainer and retarder for cement mortar, it makes the mortar pumpable. In plaster mortar, gypsum, putty powder or other building materials, it is used as an adhesive to improve the spreadability and extend the operability time. It is used as a bonding enhancer for pasting tiles, marble, plastic decorations, and can also reduce the amount of cement. The water retention property of HPMC prevents the slurry from cracking due to drying too quickly after application, and enhances the strength after hardening.
2. Ceramic manufacturing industry: It is widely used as an adhesive in the manufacture of ceramic products.
3. Paint industry: As a thickener, dispersant and stabilizer in the paint industry, it has good compatibility in water or organic solvents. As a paint stripper.
4. Ink printing: As a thickener, dispersant and stabilizer in the ink industry, it has good compatibility in water or organic solvents.
5. Plastics: As a molding release agent, softener, lubricant, etc.
6. Polyvinyl chloride: As a dispersant in the production of polyvinyl chloride, it is the main auxiliary agent for the preparation of PVC by suspension polymerization.
7. Pharmaceutical industry: coating materials; film materials; rate-controlling polymer materials for sustained-release preparations; stabilizers; suspending agents; tablet adhesives; viscosity enhancers
8. Others: also widely used in leather, paper products, fruit and vegetable preservation, and textile industries, etc.
Uses of Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose.
This product is used as a thickener, dispersant, binder, emulsifier and stabilizer in the textile industry. It is also widely used in synthetic resins, petrochemicals, ceramics, papermaking, leather, medicine, food, cosmetics and other industries.
It is used in synthetic resins, petrochemicals, ceramics, papermaking, leather, textile printing and dyeing, medicine, food, cosmetics and other daily chemicals as a dispersant, thickener, binder, excipient, capsule, oil-resistant coating and filler, etc.

Product Methods of Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose.
Treat the refined cotton cellulose with alkali solution at 35-40℃ for half an hour, squeeze, crush the cellulose, and age it appropriately at 35℃ to make the average polymerization degree of the obtained alkali fiber within the required range. Put the alkali fiber into the etherification kettle, add propylene oxide and methyl chloride in turn, etherify at 50-80℃ for 5h, and the maximum pressure is about 1.8MPa. The reaction product is post-treated (neutralized with hydrochloric acid, iron removal with oxalic acid, washed, and dried). The raw material consumption quota is 1100kg/t cotton pulp, 4300kg/t methyl chloride and propylene oxide, 1200kg/t solid alkali, 30kg/t hydrochloric acid, and 50kg/t oxalic acid.
