The US FDA approved the use of this drug in the United States in 1987, and China approved the production and sale of this drug by CMS Pharmaceuticals in 1993. Mupirocin is mainly used for the prevention and treatment of bacterial skin infections caused by gram-positive cocci.
Uses and functions of Mupirocin.
Topical antibiotic. Blocks isoleucine senescence by reversibly binding to isoleucine transfer RNA synthetase, thereby halting the synthesis of all isoleucine-containing proteins in the cell. Used for acute primary bacterial infections of the skin, such as folliculitis and impetigo.
Generally used for dermatological aspects of inflammation, eczema, etc., made into commercially available mupirocin ointment
Mupirocin is mainly used for the prevention and treatment of bacterial skin infections caused by gram-positive cocci, such as impetigo, boils, folliculitis and other primary skin infections, and eczema co-infections, ulcers co-infections, trauma co-infections and other secondary skin infections.
The main mechanism of the antibacterial effect of mupirocin is to inhibit the protein synthesis in the body of bacteria.
Pharmacological Effects Mupirocin.
Mupirocin has strong antibacterial activity against a variety of Gram-positive cocci associated with skin infections and is also effective against drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. It has some antibacterial effect on certain Gram-negative bacteria. No cross-resistance with other antibiotics.
Production method of Bulk Mupirocin Powder.
A group of substances produced by Pseudomonas fluorescens, including Pseudomonas acids A, B, C and D, of which mupirocin is the main metabolite Pseudomonas acid A
