Pharmaceutical Bulk Tocotrienols Powder
Product Overview:
Vitamin E (tocopherol) is important for a variety of animals at different stages of growth, where it is essential for the optimal functioning of reproductive, muscular, nervous and immune systems. The vitamin commonly referred to as α-tocopherol has been the focus of vitamin research because it is the most active, widely distributed and representative.

Pharmaceutical Bulk Tocotrienols Powder Details
Vitamin E (tocopherol) is important for a variety of animals at different stages of growth, where it is essential for the optimal functioning of reproductive, muscular, nervous and immune systems. The vitamin commonly referred to as α-tocopherol has been the focus of vitamin research because it is the most active, widely distributed and representative.
However, recent studies have found that tocotrienols have in some cases superior functions to alpha-tocopherol, such as antioxidant, anticancer and cholesterol-lowering properties.
These special functions of tocotrienols are related to their own structure. Since tocotrienols contain unsaturated side chains, they can penetrate more effectively into tissues containing layers of saturated fatty acids, such as the brain and liver, and can also be more easily distributed in the lipid layer of cell membranes, thus providing excellent antioxidant and free radical scavenging effects.
At present, it has been studied more deeply in foreign countries, while it is relatively less in China.
Uses and functions of Tocotrienols.
Tocotrienols have unique physiological functions in terms of antioxidant properties, cholesterol lowering, cancer inhibition, etc., and have superior physiological functions to tocopherols in some aspects, suggesting that tocotrienols have important value in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease and cancer prevention and other medical and health food applications, but there are also equally divergent
Physiological function of Tocotrienols Raw.
As fat-soluble antioxidants, tocopherols are mainly found in cell membranes, trapping free radicals occurring from lipid oxidation and providing some antioxidant effects [9].
Mohd et al. (2003) [10] showed in vitro that TRF (a mixed fraction enriched in α-tocotrienols extracted from palm oil) is a better antioxidant compared to α-tocopherol and can effectively inhibit LDL oxidation and lipid peroxidation in endothelial cells.
A study by Serbinova et al. (1991) showed that α-tocotrienol had much stronger antioxidant activity than α-tocopherol and protected cytochrome P450 more than α-tocopherol during lipid peroxidation of rat liver microsomes; tocotrienol also protected the rat heart from oxidative damage.
Rat experiments reported that the antioxidant activity of α-tocotrienol was 40-60 times higher than that of α-tocopherol in lipid peroxidation induced by ferric ions/ascorbate and ferric ions/NADPH in liver microsomes. α-tocotrienol can scavenge free radicals from lipid cell membranes more effectively.
Mechanism of action of Bulk Tocotrienols Powder.
Vitamin E is an important antioxidant and this property is mainly directly related to the phenolic groups on the benzo-monohydropyran ring.
Tocotrienols scavenge free radicals and can inhibit the production of hydrogen peroxide and alkoxylates in lipid peroxidation. Further studies have concluded that α-tocotrienols have superior antioxidant functions that may be related to their structural properties.
Firstly, α-tocotrienol molecules can be effectively reduced in the presence of reducing agents; secondly, α-tocotrienols can be uniformly distributed in the lipid layer of cell membranes; thirdly, α-tocotrienols can be better solubilised in membrane lipids, resulting in the disordered structure of the cellular membrane lipids, which is more conducive to the interactions between α-tocotrienols and the free radicals in lipids.
